Expensive offering from Tamiya in March 1988, packed with wonderful parts and a real treat to assemble.  The Avante has remained incredibly popular with collectors and commands a very high price.  That price should drop now that Tamiya have re-released the Avante, retaining many of those original parts for the updated version.

One Response to 58072 – Tamiya Avante

Completely over enginered and wonderful!! Very Tamiya, when they want to, they can come up with something incredible, technicly speaking. Just look at the pieces, looks so high tech, lots of alloy and carbon fibre and in 1988 to boot. In practice it was a bit of handfull, perhaps to comlicated to be competitive but we still love it. The re-re is a mixed blessing to me, makes the originals a bit less special but again parts are available and unlike the Avante 2001 or Avante II it is the real deal again, carbon and alloy, just beautiful………..
