Thanks. Yes, we were. Always a bit ”nervous” running older buggies, but I usually end up driving then harder than I planned too. Still, that’s what they’re for.

Thanks – it is a real treat to drive on smooth sand, even with the little 380 motor….

I really like this, it’s simple but imaginative at the same time. Looks great!

Thanks! I really like the colour scheme too. The extras are just for looks. There is a hole in the front for a body post as I had used this shell on a Hornet. The fuel can is screwed on through that, so the hole is hidden.

These are great fun. I don’t race it. It is my ”indoors car” as foam tyres don’t leave skid marks!

I built this buggy specifically for running on the beach. It is ball-raced with a standard 380 (quick enough on the sand and long run times) and a nice simple theme for the body….

Love the Alitalia theme. Works really well on the Grasshopper. Is the fuel & rope on there just for looks or is it to add weight to the front end for on the sand?

Yes, I think they are very underrated. The fact that they are cheaper than the Grasshopper and Hornet just shows what suckers we are for nostalgia!

What was your first RC Car?: 1 year, 9 months agoMy local club raced 1/12 stock cars, mini stocks, “carpet racers” and 1/10 buggies, all indoors.
I got a Mardave Mini Stock, and when the outdoors buggy track was built I got an Apache, then a Grasshopper and finally a Hornet. I have a few bits of each of them I think, but not the actual cars. I do now have at least one example of each though,…[Read more]
