Clodbuster has had a successful first run around the garden, albeit naked! Mostly standard with a few tweaks. Did everything I read it would do – bounced a lot, steered more from the rear than the front and those wheels wouldn’t turn at all when stationary! Hope to fit CVAs soon. Apart from a split anti-rotational bracket and a crack in one of…[Read more]

FINALLY getting around to finishing the Clodbuster I got from a certain Mr Weston ages ago!! It was partially stripped down some time back, currently working on the gearboxes – lots of sand to shift! Surface rust on metal bits is coming off nicely with a bit of sandpaper and elbow grease, just wish it had been ready in time for the snow!

Almost finished remodelling the kitchen now – spent too much time away from Tamiya modelling!! Ranger/Champ hybrid fist on my to do list, think I’ve finally got the steering sorted now. One word – geometry!!

After a really cr*ppy day, there’s no better way to unwind than lose yourself rebuilding an old Tamiya. All other thoughts go out of your head, the only things you’re thinking about are ‘How did that happen??!! How do I fix it?? Can I repair or do I need to replace? How much is that going to cost? How much do I have left in the bank? Hmmmmm’…[Read more]

In reply to: Shaun posted an update: The newly arrived Clod Buster is in lots of bits having a clean up and minor make-over. Wish I’d got further but the kids seem to be bringing back all sorts of colds and bugs from school […] ViewGarden fence has blown down during the storms this week, looks like hoped for Tamiya time cancelled this weekend
On the plus side, managed to get used replacement C parts for just 99p + postage! Well cheap resto so far -

The newly arrived Clod Buster is in lots of bits having a clean up and minor make-over. Wish I’d got further but the kids seem to be bringing back all sorts of colds and bugs from school and passing them on to me at the moment! The rest of the housebound collection has been relegated to the garage by the wife for Christmas whilst in-laws stay…[Read more]

In reply to: Shaun posted an update: At last! A Clodbuster has joined my collection once again. Really looking forward to RUNNING it! Still haven’t finished my Ranger / Superchamp hybrid, that steering is doing my head in… […] ViewHi Lee
It’s already being stripped down for a good clean – found it has already been fitted with ball bearings. RESULT!!
Only 1 broken chassis part and some stuck suspension to sort, that’s about it really. It’s going to be a runner so the body will get a little freshen up, new motors and rc gear, then it’s good to go.

In reply to: Shaun posted an update: Ranger / Superchamp hybrid almost done. Steering set up at front is proving tricky to get right, moving on to plan C! Falcon just needs set of stickers, looks great with HB2010 wheels. […] ViewOOPS, sorry, not been on for ages! Usual 2 steps forward, 1 step back stuff. Bodyshell is looking good, steering needs work. Going back to a msc as I prefer the old fashioned way. Someday I will find time to upload pics!

In reply to: Shaun posted an update: Looking forward to the arrival of a Falcon. This was the car I got to replace my Ford Ranger back in the eighties, which to be honest felt like a big come down. However, I don’t think I […] ViewMany thanks. I was debating whether or not to get a new shell for it but from the sound of things I should probably just get some repro stickers instead. As for the Hilux, amazing! Looking forward to seeing it finished
